Cossy Orjiakor names cats Buhari, Goodluck

A popular Nollywood actress, Cossy Orjiakor, has named her two cats Buhari and Goodluck.

She posted on her Instagram page, @cossyorjiakor,a picture of the cats facing each other as if in a deep conversation.

“My cats, Buhari and Goodluck, (are) discussing the Nigerian economy (and) dollar rate,” the actress wrote.

Last month, a man, Joachim Iroko, who named his dog Buhari, was arrested and remanded in prison, following his arraignment at Ota magistrate Court 2, Ogun State.

The Nigeria Police had stated that Iroko’s “conduct was likely to cause breach of peace, by writing a name, Buhari, on a dog and parading same in the Hausa section of Ketere Market, Sango, thereby, committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 249 (d) of the Criminal Law of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2016.”

The accused is expected back in court on Monday.

Orjiakor, however, expressed her readiness to be arrested for a similar conduct.

“All I want is a good-looking sexy police officer with Donald Duke’s (former governor of Cross River) face; Uti Nwachukwu’s eyes; PSquare’s chest and D’Banj’s ‘no long thing.’ He should come with sexy handcuffs.

“And he (the policeman) should have an English accent like Jim Iyke. All I want is a super-handsome police officer with six-packs and stamina to arrest me this morning (Saturday) and take me to Aso Rock prison; and serve me Aso Rock food because ‘Mummy Victor Market’ is too expensive these days.

“If it is a policewoman, then she must have fat, soft buttocks and big tits. I must be high on some cheap stuff this morning,” she said.

World’s oldest man turns 113

The world’s oldest man turned 113 on Thursday and the Holocaust survivor living in Israel readied for the Bar Mitzvah he was denied a century ago, his family said.

Yisrael Kristal, an observant Jew from Zarnow in what is now Poland and currently living in the port city of Haifa, was born on September 15, 1903, three months before the Wright brothers’ first successful powered airplane flight.

Guinness World Records in March recognised him as the world’s oldest man.

While he turned 113 on Thursday under the Gregorian calendar, his family will celebrate the birthday at the end of September according to the Hebrew calendar, his daughter Shula Koperstoch told AFP.

The festivities will include a Bar Mitzvah that will come 100 years late.

The Bar Mitzvah is one of the most important ceremonies in the life of a Jew.

Usually marked at 13 for boys and 12 or 13 for girls — a Bat Mitzvah in that case — it marks the transition into someone responsible for their actions.

Kristal was unable to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah in 1916 because his mother had died three months earlier and his father was a soldier in the Russian army at the time of World War I.

“My father is religious and has prayed every morning for 100 years, but he has never had his Bar Mitzvah,” his daughter said.

Around 100 family members will attend, with the date and location being kept secret to avoid Kristal having to contend with a crush of journalists, she said.

Fear as the ground vibrated in kaduna t

There was confusion  in Koi town in   Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State as the earth vibrated  twice on Sunday afternoon in the ancient city,  forcing residents to panic.

This is the second time the town will experience this in 2016.

It was gathered that on July 30, 2016, Haying Magani in Ikara Local Government Area of the state  was rattled by earth tremor which destroyed some homes and injured some people.

The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the LGA, Mr. Ben Kure, confirmed the development, saying that the first one happened around 10.30am on Sunday.

Kure said he was in the Church  when it started.

He said, “I was in church around 10.30am when the whole town shook. It lasted for about three to five seconds. I came out of the church and we inspected the town and there was no damage to any building and no one was injured.

“Two hours later, while I was driving to Kaduna, a palace official called to inform me that there was another one that took place. When I inquired, he said that there was no damage.
