Intra city commercial bus drivers in Osogbo, the osun state capital on thursday withdrew their vehicles from the road to protest the increase in the price of petrol to N145 per liter. Our correspondent obseved that commutera resorted to trekking long distance as the driver parked their mini buses known as korope at various motor parks to protest the fuel hike which many of them described as wicked.
One of the drivers, who spoke in an interview with our corresondent, Tajudeen Mustapha said commuters were not willing to pay commensurate in the fare.
Mustapha said, this hike is wicked. The people are suffering already even before he hike. Many workers are not being paid and how do you expect these people to afford this hike. Passengers don;t want to pay and we have to pay almost double for a price of one liter.
